Schymanns keramik

Dansk

Keramikken bliver fremstillet i hendes egen lille værkstedsbutik i Stubbekøbing.

Authenticity, tranquility, and heightened sensuality are the keywords when Schymann works with clay. In a sometimes chaotic daily life with three young children, the act of creation serves as a breath of fresh air and a sanctuary, as working with clay demands her full attention.

Since she embarked on her culinary journey at the age of 16, she has always approached her profession with ambition and a strong work ethic. This mindset has led her through some of the industry’s finest restaurants and into leadership roles. However, after 15 years in that environment, she chose to leave the city and undergo a career change. Instead, she embarked on her ceramic adventure with a local artist, instantly captivated by a material and process that demanded more tranquility and immersion than she had previously known in her professional life.

In her approach to clay, she collaborates with it rather than against it. The process is intuitive, and she harnesses the material’s inherent spirit, allowing it to unfold on its own terms. As a result, few things in Schymann’s ceramics are alike, as the creative process always begins anew.

Her ceramics are crafted in her own small workshop boutique in Stubbekøbing.
