EN DEL AF UDSTILLINGEN “MORE THAN DESIGN” I ØKSNEHALLEN D.25.-26. AUGUST //

Sigrid Buus er  uddannet som industriel designer i 2006 fra Det Kongelige Danske Kunstakademi. Sigrid bor og arbejder i dag i København.

Sigrid skaber Stacking Sculptures ud af vintage og genanvendte objeketer. Skulpturerne komplimenterer hinanden i små familier og består af alle slags materialer. Alle dele indsamles rundt omkring i landet til loppemarkeder og hos små vintagebutikker og kombineres til unikke skulpturer. Hvert element har sin egen historie – en anden form og en anden funktion. Nogle er gamle keramiske vaser, glaslamper og lysestager, hvor andre er skabt af messingdele fra gamle lamper, gamle træværktøjer og møbeldele.

Sigrid Buus is a danish artist living in Copenhagen. Educated as an Industrial designer in 2006 from Danmarks Designskole, now called Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts.

Sigrid creates Stacking Sculptures out of vintage and recycled elements. The sculptures compliment each other in small families and consists of all kind of materials. All parts are collected around the country in flea markets and small vintage shops and combined into unique sculptures. Every element has a story of its own – a different shape and a different function. Some are old ceramic vases, glass lamp shades and candle holders and some are brass parts from old lamps and old wooden tools and furniture parts.
