Tay Filrup is an American mixed media artist living in south Sweden. She was born in an incredibly small farming town in California. Since 2016, Tay has resided in Vancouver, San Diego, Copenhagen and Malmö, growing her art along the way.
She specializes in colorful, cartoonish portraits with contrasting highlights. Her mediums are Copic markers, acrylic, and Procreate. In August 2017, Filrup debuted her first art show, titled “Bittersweet,” in San Diego and Copenhagen.
She draws inspiration from her Latina roots, hip hop and R’n’B, fashion, aliens, cartoons, drag culture, and powerful women. Tay Filrup is creating her own world filled with punchy colors, nudity, and imagination.
